Ball State has no chance at the BCS this year

Ball State can run the table and still will not get a BCS bid.  Their Mid-Am conference is so weak that they will have to show that they are winning it easily for a few years in an row PLUS add at least one big game.  It's a nice little story but they really should not even be ranked in the top 25 at this point.

It took Boise State four years of excellent play to make it and they took advantage of it in a big way.  Ball State has just gotten on the radar.  They need to sustain this level of play to be considered.

Penn St sitting pretty

Even though they may not be the best team in the nation, they have the best shot at the big game because of their schedule and the absence of a championship game.  It will be very hard for both Alabama and Texas Tech to both win out the season and championship games.  If they both do, then they deserve to play each other.  Alabama will have it tough - having to play at LSU and then against a Florida team that is really playing well in the Championship.  Texas Tech will have a tough OK State game, then at Oklahoma; followed by Missouri.  That's a tall order.

What's really ironic is that I think Penn State would lose to either of those teams.  The Nitanny Lions are built to win the Big 10, not the Big One.
